According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 14.0 km (5.4 mi). 13.3 km (5.1 mi) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.63% water.

There are 3,195 households out of which 36.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.0% are married couples living together, 10.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.5% are non-families. 19.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
